I feel guilty about being white and being male. I think a lot of us feel wrong and don't know what to do.

Guilty.
Guilty of being me.
Guilty of being white.
Guilty of being male.
Guilty of the benefit my birth affords me.

White face shameful race, apparently the colour of my guts...my brain.
A simple colour made complex by history, but I won't be complicit
and neither should you be.
Because when I see that fear in your eyes, man I hate my life.

Embarrassed by ancestry, and what others tell me.
I'm careful in my words.
Words betray my birthright.
I right I've never wanted nor sought.
An idea I loathe.
As I am colour blind a racist you should find.
As we are all the same, prejudice you claim.

There's no way out of this paradox
I know I can't understand
The very thing you see,
It's me!
And I cannot alleviate me from me.

I apologize
I do my best
I'd never differentiate
Human is Human I say
but that is a vantage point privilege affords me.

But I truly don't care about the clothes that you wear
not the colour of your hair,
whatever sex lies within,
not the colour of your skin.
(we are all people and should be loved and celebrated)

If you condemn white men for trying
you will just get more victims (not equality)
If you label moderates as 'bad feminists'
you will weaken the voice of women.
if you spew racialized vitriol at your supporters
you will cower your friends and invalidate your cause
If you can't forgive men the mistakes of the past
then you are doomed to repeat them
doomed to repeat the past in reverse
and for what it's worth it's probably deserved.
